Daniel Bryan vs Ted DiBiase - NXT 25.01.2011
Heard a lot of high praise for this so I decided to check it out and it aint too shabby. Total Danielson carry job and DiBiase looked god awful but a Danielson carry job with this much ring time is always gonna be good even if with someone as dead as DiBiase. All of Danielson's offense looked good and the crowd got behind him. Went totally dead for DiBiase's control segment and I honestly cant remember a thing about it bar Maryse and Ziggler doing commentary on a live mic tirating Danielson whilst he was getting worked over and jarring with the fans. He made one comment after he got whipped in the corner where on a live mic he just blurts out "Maybe if he eat more than plants he'd have some more strength". Really enjoyed Ziggler taunting Danielson all match. Something about their rivalry so far feels like it's leading to something huge a few years down the line, like Rock/Austin feel if it's done right. WM 28 with Danielson beating Ziggler in the main event for hist first world title win, mark it on your calendars now. Maryse is pretty brilliant in it too, easily the best thing going for DiBiase's character atm. Loved the way she just didn't give a shit about anything going on. There was one moment where she just went up to Matthews and signed a piece of paper and kissed it for him and it's soooo fucking great. She's got an awesome character. Kinda like she's a total bitch but I still wanna marry her bad. DiBiase's rookie looks like he could be a great monster if he can work in the ring. Picked up for the end and the crowd being into it helped it a lot. From what I gathered DiBiase seemed to be doing some kind of useless loser gimmick that never won but then he did .... he just won, and not only won but beat the US Champ. Maryse's reaction to it was pretty great too. God I love her. Danielson's been booked like a total chump this year too. He's been pinned 3 times already and he's had some stupid angle with the Bellas and now Gail Kim. Ladies man Danielson is quite brilliant though as long as it doesn't bog him down too much. Maybe we'll get a throwaway 4 way on Sunday with Danielson, DiBiase, Kidd & Morrison from it but I doubt Morrison or Kidd will even get a title match from their pin. Typical Danielson solid match with a useless guy.
