Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho - Raw 6/15/2009
From that Night of Champs-ish episode of Raw.
Not too much here that we haven't seen before, and they get somewhere between 8-10 minutes, which basically means it's nothing I'd call a classic or essential, but that doesn't mean that they didn't rock it. Lots of the same spots from previous matches, but they managed to tweak all of them and come up with some counters to keep them interesting. Really good finish, too, with Jericho twisting the mask to break Rey's focus long enough for him to hit a Codebreaker. I love the way Jericho managed to come up with clever stuff and new counters to stay ahead of Rey, and Rey responded throughout the series with resilience and creativity to find ways to get his offense in.
I'd call it ***1/4, but if the rest of the series didn't overshadow the match so much, I'd probably go higher.
